Cannabis Suppositories: What We Discovered Along the Way

Originally referenced from Leafly.com

During our journey, I came across information about cannabis suppositories — and it caught my attention for a couple of reasons.

First, they’re said to work quickly by being absorbed through the rectal mucosa and into the bloodstream, without passing through the digestive system. That seemed promising, especially for people who are too nauseated to swallow oils or edibles.

Second, I learned that this method might help avoid the euphoric effects of THC. Back when Brad first started using cannabis oil, the psychoactive effects were a challenge. Looking back, I sometimes wonder if suppositories might have been a gentler option for him, especially in those early days.

We never tried this method ourselves, but I’ve since read that they’re fairly easy to make at home and have gained popularity in places like Central Europe. At some point, I may explore this further and share more about what we find.

For anyone navigating serious illness and exploring alternatives, I encourage you to keep reading, researching, and staying curious — just like we did.
